چکیده

Functional connectivity between two voxels or regions of voxels can be measured by the correlation between voxel measurements from either PET CBF or BOLD fMRI images in 3D. We propose to look at the entire 6D matrix of correlations between all voxels and search for 6D local maxima. The main result is a new theoretical formula, based on random eld theory, for the p-value of these local maxima, that distinguishes true correlations from background noise. This can be applied to cross correlations between two diierent sets of images, such as activations under two diierent tasks, as well as autocorrelations within the same set of images.

Modeling of ecological connectivity across landscape is important for understanding a wide range of ecological processes. Modeling ecological connectivity between habitats and incorporating these models into conservation planning require quantifying the effect of spatial patterns of landscape on the degree of habitats connectivity. Recently, concepts from electrical circuit theory have been ad...

Centric connectivity index by shell matrices

Relative centricity RC values of vertices/atoms are calculated within the Distance Detour and Cluj-Distance criteria on their corresponding Shell transforms. The vertex RC distribution in a molecular graph gives atom equivalence classes, useful in interpretation of NMR spectra. Timed by vertex valences, RC provides a new index, called Centric Connectivity CC, which can be useful in the topologi...

Identification of mild cognitive impairment disease using brain functional connectivity and graph analysis in fMRI data

Background: Early diagnosis of patients in the early stages of Alzheimer's, known as mild cognitive impairment, is of great importance in the treatment of this disease. If a patient can be diagnosed at this stage, it is possible to treat or delay Alzheimer's disease. Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) is very common in the process of diagnosing Alzheimer's disease. In th...

Tinnitus Identification based on Brain Network Analysis of EEG Functional Connectivity

Introduction: Tinnitus known as a central nervous system disorder is correlated with specific oscillatory activities within auditory and non-auditory brain areas. Several studies in the past few years have revealed that in the most tinnitus cases, the response pattern of neurons in auditory system is changed due to auditory deafferentation, which leads to variation of the brain...

Evaluation of Model-Based Methods in Estimating Dynamic Functional Connectivity of Brain Regions

Today, neuroscientists are interested in discovering human brain functions through brain networks. In this regard, the evaluation of dynamic changes in functional connectivity of the brain regions by using functional magnetic resonance imaging data has attracted their attention. In this paper, we focus on two model-based approaches, called the exponential weighted moving average model and the d...
